There are an extraordinary number of Barcelona Museums offering a wide variety of exhibitions dedicated to the art, culture and history of Barcelona.

Having produced so many great artists and architects, Barcelona’s art museums are first class.

A visit to Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is almost obligatory and will provide an overview of Catalonia’s art treasures, but contempoarary art at MACBA is also of exceptional quality and the museums dedicated to individual artists, such as Picasso, Miró or Gaudí are well worth visiting.

The two main history museums are Museu d’Història de Catalunya and Museu d’Història de la Ciutat (MUHBA), which has many smaller historical sites dotted around the city.

There are also lots of thematic museums dedicated to Chocolate, Wax, Eroticism or Perfume and first class temporary exhibitions at Palau Robert, CaixaForum and others.
