1714 – Talamanca (el Bages): a battle begins in which the miquelets, voluntareers, sometents and other regulated regiments of the Catalan Austriacist army, commanded by Antoni Desvalls, Marquès del Poal, comprising 2,000 men, faces Felipe V’s troops (The War of the Spanish Succession), commanded by Conde de Montemar, who has at least 3,500 men at his disposal.

1801 – València: the Avalot de Quintes happens.

1940 – La Baule (Britanny, France): the Gestapo detains the president of the Generalitat of CataloniaLluís Companys.

1983 – Madrid: the Spanish Constitutional Court declares 14 of the 38 articles of the LOAPA unconstitutional.

1926 – Barcelona: Josep Sazatornil i Buendía (Saza), Catalan theatre and cinema actor.

1930 – Barcelona: Albert Jané i Riera, Catalan writer and linguist, editor of the magazine Cavall Fort.

1965 – Sabadell: Miquel Calçada i Olivella (Mikimoto), Catalan journalist, TV presenter and politician.
